The American People Just Crushed Paul Ryan & the Entire Republican Caucus

The House Republicans’ humiliating failure has further weakened their standing with midterm voters

The House Republicans just suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the American people. Despite the bills ultimate failure, we must remember that House Republicans voted to greenlight this process in January, strongly supported the bill in committee, and voiced their eagerness to vote yes on the floor. Because of these reckless actions, we are already seeing a fierce backlash sweeping the country that will follow vulnerable House Republicans into the midterms.

“Speaker Ryan’s pathetic inability to lead his own caucus and his callous disregard for hardworking Americans has created a fierce backlash to every single House Republican,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law. “The only thing Paul Ryan has succeeded at this year is exposing the Republicans’ out-of-touch priorities and covering his vulnerable members in a stench of defeat that will follow them through the midterms.”
