Arkansas Times Max Brantley: Will French Hill Finish ‘Studying’ And Come Clean On Minimum Wage?

On the Arkansas Times’ segment Today in Arkansas, reporter Max Brantley slams millionaire banker French Hill for his opposition to the minimum wage and his laughable claim that he is still “studying” the issue. Hill benefitted from tax dollars to make millions for himself while forcing his employees to face pay cuts and find new jobs – but he has repeatedly opposed an increase in the minimum wage that would put more money in the pockets of hardworking Arkansans.

Brantley: “That immediately raised the question – will millionaire banker French Hill of Little Rock finally finish his studying and decide whether he will or he won’t vote for an increase in the state minimum wage […] At this point, I don’t think even if he did change his mind you could believe him or expect it would have much impact. He just doesn’t like poor folks to make more than $6.25 an hour in Arkansas. Easy for him to say, having just made $5 million selling a bank from which a number of his poor employees got laid off.”
