The Stakeholder
Alan Grayson Leads By 11 Points in New FL-08 Poll
DCCC Press:
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today
released a new Benenson Strategy Group poll conducted October 21-22 that shows
Alan Grayson leading Republican incumbent
Ric Keller by 11 points in the race for Florida's 8th Congressional District (52
percent to 41 percent). The poll surveyed 402 likely voters and has a 4.9
percent margin of error.
Voters in Florida's 8th District have an extremely negative view of Incumbent Ric Keller, rating him more unfavorably than favorably (36 percent unfav to 35 percent fav), while Grayson is viewed in a positive light (36 percent fav to 24 percent unfav). Only 4 percent of voters think Keller is doing an excellent job, while 24 percent of voters rate Keller's job performance as poor. Also, the district is voting for change up-ballot as well, with Obama leading McCain by double digits (51 percent to 41 percent).
"Voters recognize Ric Keller's failure to take care of Florida's veterans, children and working families and are ready for someone who can get things done for the middle class," said Kyra Jennings, Southern Regional Press Secretary at the DCCC. "The people of Central Florida deserve better than Ric Keller's consistent string of broken promises and Bush rubber stamps, and are obviously looking for a change."
