MN-06: DCCC Poll Shows Bachmann Kissed up to Bush Too Many Times

Rep. Bachmann claimed Friday night that Senator Obama and his wife Michelle may hold "anti-American views" and even called for the media to investigate other members of Congress to "find out if they are pro-America or anti-America."

Tinklenberg Holds Bachmann to 4 point lead; Her Approval Ratings Plummet
Last Friday, Minnesota Public Radio reported that the National Republican Congressional Committee planned to pull its television ads in Minnesota's third congressional district to defend Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in Minnesota's sixth congressional district. They did so with good reason if their polling at all matches a poll the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released today showing Bachmann with only 42 percent of the vote to Elwyn Tinklenberg's 38 percent, and 15 percent are undecided. Elwyn Tinklenberg has won the endorsements of both the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and the powerful Independence Party of Minnesota. The poll was conducted by Grove Insight, from October 10 thru 12, of 400 people with 4.9 margin of error.
The four point spread in the race
comes after the Alliance for a Better Minnesota television began running a
television ad highlighting Michele Bachmann's close ties to President Bush
including her infamous kiss at last year's State of the Union address (watch it here). According to the DCCC's poll,
President Bush's approval rating in the district is at an abysmal 18 percent and
Bachmann herself isn't fairing much better with only 34 percent. Additionally, 82 percent
of respondents said that the country is "off on the wrong
track."
"Michele Bachmann's days of kissing up to George Bush and the
failed Republican agenda are rapidly coming to an end," said Carrie James,
regional press secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
"Michele Bachmann finds herself facing an electorate eager for change and
serious about holding George Bush and the Republicans accountable for their
neglect of the middle class. With just 19 days until Election Day momentum is on
El Tinklenberg's side."

The truth is that it’s actually around $90,000. That one page has over $23,000 now, but between Michele’s appearance on Hardball and now, around $90,000 has come in for Tinklenberg--on ActBlue alone.
That doesn’t include contributions made from other sources, like checks or Tinklenberg’s website. Maybe the total is close to $100,000 in one day.
People like Bachmann are the reason I’ve decided to leave the GOP after this election and re-register as an independent. Do the right thing MN-6 and fire her.
It’s hard to fathom that people in MN-6 would re-elect her after her comments on Hardball.

I have never been to Minnesota, and I do not know anyone in Minnesota but after witnessing the interview with Congresswoman Bachmann on Hardball with Chris Matthews I quickly made a financial contribution to El Tinklenberg’s campaign. I was utterly shocked at how easily Congresswoman Bachmann conjured up the demons of McCarthyism. Her words were frightening! She should be censured and hopefully removed from office. Please vote Tinklenberg Minnesota!

We used to live in MN 6 now represented by Michele Bachman, who is using anti American ‘McCarthism’ tactics to create fear, hate and rage not only among those in her district, but nationally as well.
MN 6 has always been a conservative district but happily never one supporting these tactics and this mentality. We are pleased to send this check in support of El Tinklenberg; hopefully he can win and finally bring positive intelligent representation to this district.

I, too, saw Hardball last night and could not believe my ears. Count this Texan in, just donating to El’s campaign and hoping like crazy this woman hears a resounding NO on 11/4. The novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley was published as a warning. For instance, the California government has allowed zoning of Los Angeles to include where fast food restaurants cannot have a store open. Burger joints are becoming outlawed, and one of the next targets is the payday loan industry, which has already come under fire. Many politicians and candidates are pledging to rid their respective states, municipalities, and also the entire United States of this legitimate and valuable service industry. Many of these politicians are hoping to get elected so that they can serve their own self interest or the banking lobby’s interests. How far should they be allowed to go before we, the American people, say enough?
