NJ-07: Stender Takes Wider Lead Over Lance in DCCC Poll
DCCC Press:
Stender Leads Lance 40 - 31, Conservative Michael Hsing Gets 8 Percent
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released
a poll conducted by Beneson Strategy Group showing Linda Stender with a nine
point lead over Leonard Lance in New
Jersey's 7th congressional district. A
survey of 406 likely voters interviewed October 8-9 shows Stender with 40
percent of the vote to Leonard Lance's 31 percent and third party candidate
Michael Hsing received 8 percent. The poll has a 4.9 percent margin of error.
"With Leonard Lance's support for President Bush's failed economic agenda, and his support for denying women access to birth control, Lance has made a commitment to the status quo in this change election year," said Carrie James, regional press secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "This poll shows Lance's pro-George Bush strategy is failing."

If Linda is doing so well against Lance, why is the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spending money to promote Hsing in direct mailings. Are you suggesting that Hsing is a better candidate than Linda? I believe that is true. It looks like a weak attempt to split Lance’s vote.
