The Stakeholder
NRCC: “Economy is Robust and Job Creation is Strong”
Looks like our counterparts at the National Republican Congressional Committee still have their heads in the sand.
I'm sure the millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet in this "robust" economy are overflowing with gratitude for those Republican economic policies that got us into this mess.

UPDATE -- Just out from DCCC Press:
Out of Touch Republicans Boast "U.S. Economy is Robust and Job Creation is Strong"
The economic issues section of the NRCC webpage proudly proclaims that, "Thanks to Republican economic policies, the U.S. economy is robust and job creation is strong."
"It's stunning that the Republicans believe that ‘Thanks to Republican economic policies, the U.S. economy is robust and job creation is strong,'" said Jennifer Crider, the Communications Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "Republicans' stunning claim flies in the face of all evidence that shows our economy is in crisis. At least the NRCC got one thing right - it's Republican economic policies that got us in this economic mess."
"The question is whether House Republicans are as out of touch as their leaders about the economic hardships facing hardworking Americans who are struggling to keep their jobs, health care, and homes?"
Here are few eloquent economic facts we can "thank" Republican economic policies for:
Republicans Created Jobs? Americans have suffered 12 straight months of job losses totaling nearly 2.6 million in the past year - the most since 1945 - and lost nearly two million jobs in the last four months alone.
Unemployment Skyrocketed. The unemployment rate surged to 7.2 percent - the highest level in 15 years. The number of Americans looking for work climbed to 11.1 million - the highest number in 25 years.
Housing Markets Crashed. In 2008, there were 2.25 million home foreclosures and a record 1 in 10 homeowners were delinquent on mortgage payments or in foreclosure this fall.
Stock Market Plummeted. 2008 was also the worst year on Wall Street since the Great Depression, wiping out nearly $7 trillion in stock market wealth and endangering thousands of investors' nest eggs.
Auto Sales Drop. Ford and General Motors reported a 30 percent decline in vehicle sales in December, Chrysler saw a 53 percent decline, and Toyota and Honda posted about a 35 percent U.S. sales drop.
Manufacturing at 28-Year Low. U.S. manufacturing fell to a 28-year low in December.
Recession Hits Home. The U.S. economy has officially been in recession since December 2007, already making it the longest downturn since 1981-82.

This page on the NRCC page indicate either an incompetent web master, disorganization in their public relations operations, lack of effective leadership, or rampant and extreme delusions about reality.
Or perhaps all of the above….
It goes with the usual Republican methodology; spread misinformation, tell lies, and ignore the damage.
It looks like a ploy to bury web pages stating that the economy is in “good shape” in the internet archive dated to the beginning of the Obama administration. In effect, they are trying to change reality now so that they can change history later. These guys pull stuff like this all the time. We just have to raise a stink when they do.
Their tax page says the economy is strong. Meanwhile Larry Kudlow says we need more tax breaks for the wealthy or they will go on strike. The GOP has truly lost any sense of reality.

Lies+Lies=More Lies
Obviously a page that hasnt been updated in a while. Zzz
And they don’t think the country has any issues worthy of noting…

It’s going to take a lot more than a payday loan to get the economy back on track after the worst eight years we’ve had in a long time. Jobs grew only 2 percent during Bush’s time in the White House. That’s compared to 21 percent growth during Clinton’s presidency. The GDP only grew about 2 percent and Bush managed to turn a budget surplus into a deficit within three years. His own salary is big enough that he’ll never need a payday loan, but that is a lot more than I can say for my fellow Americans. The few of them that still have jobs will probably need to take out a payday loan to keep up with their bills at some point.
HAH! Would the Republicans like to hire those of us whose unemployment is about out? Would they put their money where their mouths are?
Life here in Michigan is great.Everyone I know has either lost their job or is clinging to the one they have even if it no longer offers any hope for advancements, raises, etc.
This rosy picture is typical of the republican lack of reality. No global warming. No regulation needed. Amnesty for illegals, due to too many jobs here. Weapons of mass destruction. The terrorists came from and are hiding in Iraq.
The question is not where they were wrong, it is were they ever right. The right is just WRONG!
Hey you republicans bring our jobs back so we can buy your product instead of having to worry how long we will have a job
The emperor is naked.
RUSH - DON"T LET THESE LIBTARD BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN
Well - speaking of facts….
Officially - straight from wikipedia - n macroeconomics, a recession is a decline in a country’s gross domestic product (GDP), or negative real economic growth, for two or more successive quarters of a year.
and unemployment was lower during Bush than Clinton.
look it up by each month at bls.gov. Take the total for each of the 72 months at you get ~5.7 for Clinton, ~5.1 for Bush.
Dont let the facts get in the way of your cool-aid drinking party for the Messiah…. Enjoy the next 47 months because things are going to get real great. LOLZ!
Go away troll.
George L, where where you during the Clinton years? Those were the best years of my career! I almost starved under Reagan, Bush and Bush! Sorry, I forgot, Reagan was YOUR messiah!
Ford and GM sales have dropped not because of anything the federal government did or can do. Their sales dropped because they build crap. Plain and simple. If Americans spend $25,000 for a car they want it to last and be worth something in five years.
Love you Rush! Hey maybe if these kind folks would send you a hard-copy of the petition and all the notes, maybe you could auction it off for charity, just like last time.
PS I think you should require photos from women callers for a while again.
now how can you possibly blame any party for this mess. the dems have written the laws for this. but i dont blame them, its greedy americans trying to make a quick buck on houses borrowing money they cant pay back. you cant blame reps for that…how idiotic. you should change this site to i hate reps dot com
they fixed the website so that you HAVE to donate to see anything, perhaps you guys woke them up?
This article is obviously outdated but Libs will believe anything they read.
Go Limbaugh! I don’t like what the Dems are saying on this site so I want it taken down.
The last time the economy was this bad, Jimmy Carter was president!
A true American will quickly turn his/her misfortune around and indeed find the silver lining in every cloud. Everyone else will become Democrats, waiting for their idol, Barack Obama, to save them somehow. The sheep always look to their Shepard.
What did Reagan do to save the economy? Hey let us cut corporate taxes and capital gains taxes so business come back to the Unite States. Let us make it easier for car companies who are trouble to make cars cheaper and not put more restrictions on them over this crazy made up global warming. Nah, lets do what the democrats want to do, raise taxes spend money on pork barrel projects, and put more restrictions on car makers. We can also make our economy better by not drilling for oil while we look for other fuel alternatives. Ronald Reagan had it right when he said government is the problem. Republican and Democrats.
We really need an IQ test prior to voting. Your koolaid is tainted. Please stop drinking the koolaid, it’s bad for you. God Bless America.
Oh yeah and remember. It took Jimmy Carter to give us Ronald Reagan. (Glenn Beck 2008) It will take President Obama to give us our next Ronald Reagan. And for all you liberals I gave the respect to President Obama by calling him President, I refuse to call him names or show him the disrespect shown to President Bush. I can still disagree with his policies and give him the respect his office holds. Can you say you did the same for President Bush.
This is not true I went to the site and it is not there. In this difficult time we need to stop attacking those who disagree with us, both sides. I am more concerned with a national political party having the boldness to attack individuals. Please use truth as your standard not politics or party.
Go Rush! Fight the propaganda and fight the thought police.
This is disgusting and is the start to cencorship (or the so-called “Fairness Doctrine).”
Let the 1st Ammendment STAND! I can’t believe that our elections are full of fraud (ACORN) and now you’re working to silence dissenting voices!!
This is just what Hugo Chaves did in Venezuela - he shut down all media that disagreed with him.
OUR FOUNDING FATHERS WARNED US ABOUT THIS, WHICH IS WHY THEY MADE FREEDOM OF SPEECH OUR FIRST AMMENDMENT RIGHT!!!
WE DON’T WANT SOCIALISM OR A DICTATORSHIP OR COMMUNISM!
This Economic Stimulus Package needs to be called, THE LARGEST PORK-BARREL EARMARK PACKAGE IN THE HISTORY OF THE U.S.A.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD PLEASE HELP US - I PRAY OUR FOUNDING FATHERS DIDN’T SACRIFICE SO MUCH FOR US IN VAIN.
AREN’T THERE ANY POLITICIANS LEFT THAT REALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT’S BEST FOR WHAT’S LEFT OF A FREE COUNTRY?
Joe Sixpack - you are soooo right. See the two links below. These people should not be allowed to vote and what are they going to do when Obama doens’t change their world.

Seems like I remember the Dumocrats taking control of the Congress over 2 years ago now. What have they done? Oh yeah, NOTHING! You see when a particular party controls the House or Senate, they basically have the power to get things done, but since Dems are not smart enough to get things done they just blame the Republicans at every turn. Thanks Dems for wasting billions of tax-payer’s money—where is that money by the way?? Oh yeah, you didn’t think oversight for that was important. Let’s see, banks are tanking cause they don’t know how to manage money, yeah, let’s give them more and hope they get smarter in 2 days. You are all worthless.
Watch This. There is no commentary. It’s not just 2 second sound bites. This is C-Span clips of the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac hearings 3-4 years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxMInSfanqg Now with Obama’s plan, I totally agree with Rush. It Won’t Work!! I hope he fails! Because the sooner it does, the sooner we get this prolonged Nightmare over with! Bush dealt with a Recession in progress, March, 2001. 3500+ U S Citizens Died on American Soil, Sept, 2001. And Don’t You Forget That! Most liberals have. Republicans trying to prevent the Home Mortgage Crisis in 2005. So, you can all scream and yell about Rush, but if you censor him, You will be next. Because that’s what Dems want to do. They have you believing all this BS so far. Now they have you where they want. Glazed Over and now you’ve Seen The Coming!
The Dems have had Congressional control for 2+ years and nothing accomplished but a Higher Minimum Wage, which only 1-2% of the work force actually earns. But Hallelujah. One theory could be that the Dems have held back for 2 years to create a worse situation so they can gain total control and create the Socialist State they so want.
Oh and Don’t forget, Barney Frank, the one Nancy Pelosi PRAISES so greatly, was literally sleeping with the head of Fannie Mae at the time of these hearings.
P.S. I wonder how long it will take for my previous post to be pulled. If it is, then we know that the Dems don’t want you to know the truth.
Yep, the Democrats and their over regulated redistribution lending laws were in control the last two years. Nice going Pelosi, Reid, and Frank…porkers.
A real blog is at:

You people are absolutely the ones out of touch along with the rest of Washington. You are talking about a microcosm here. All the bad economic things that have happen over the past year or so are a result of, not the republicans, but a congress out of control. Both Democrats and Republicans have systematically eliminated protections and failsafes in the US economic market dating back all the way to the Carter years. Congressmen and women always do whats best for their reelection and whats best for themselves….never the country. Freddie Mac and Fannie May were charted by our congress and were given money by our congress. Congress blindly kept asking them in the 90’s to give out MORE sub prime mortgages to people who could not afford them. When the money is good the money is really good. People like Barney Frank and even our president Obama and senator John McCain all took money from Freddie and Fannie.THIS IS THE SINGLE DUMBEST PIECE OF PROPAGANDA I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG WHILE. It’s very easy for you Democrats AND Republicans to shell out the blame…but stop please….start taking responsibility and owning up to how you have all failed us the American people. Apologize and move on. Maybe, just maybe those 2 million jobless will forgive you for your sins of the past.
When is everyone going to learn that they entire government democrat or republican is corrupt and when they whole thing collapses then we will realize only God can help us
Rush is right! I don’t want this president to be sucessful
because I don’t a socialist country.I believe in freedom,
and keep gov’t out of our lives. The purpose of gov’t is to protect us through our military. Lower my taxes to the ability to protect our nation..Put in term limits on all senators and congressmen!!
Did they stop posting comments here at #39?
They seemed to have stoped at #300 on the other blog to “Stand up against Rush”
It’s nice reading this stuff, the TV News and Newspapers had me feeling so alone as if they whole world LOVES Obama and the scary views he has of America. I believe we could be on our way to losing our freedom of speech (they will take it away with a deceptive reason - like, we need to drop nationally syndicated hosts on free radio because it’s not “Local” enough for the local community radio serves)
Heck if you do that, then what about music radio - let’s only air the local community singers and bands, not only the National Record Label artists - how do they serve the community.
God I hope communism doesn’t win
The NRCC folks are doing exactly the right thing. Consumer confidence is what will yank us out of this contrived recession. The words coming from Washington are not instilling any confidence. Instead of Hope there’s only despair being preached to us about the economy.
The liberal left Democrat is like a small child having a tantrum. You all need a good wallop and sent to your rooms. The good thing is that your in power and it will be only a matter of time before clear thinking Americans see your true colors. Un American is the perfect word for you intellectual misled sheep. When you grow up and get sick of the government stealing from you…only then will you become Republicans.
I grew up in East Hampton, N.Y., in the forties and fifties. I got to meet many red diaper babies. I know how they think. Obama is one. He got to be President through massive deceit. I think it’s odd that he and Madoff arrived on the scene at the same time. I hope The Masses wake up soon, before O. does too much damage. Until then, God have mercy on us.
I am an independent.
Democrats need to take at least some of the blame as they have had the congress and senate for past 2 yrs. So they should realize that they could have also done better. Doesnt take away the blame from the republicans though.
We need to jump start our economy quickly as we are losing 200,000 jobs a month. Republicans and Democrats need to come together and fix this mess. No pork spending, no bridge to nowhere, no pet projects. Spend on unemployment benefits, cut costs, reduce state deficits but not reward them for overspending and tax the uber-rich.
Good Afternoon,
GO RUSH! I also listen to Sean Hannity and FOX NEWS, HEY, I even turn MSM on occasion. OK, President Obama is now POTUS; I disagree with most everything that he thinks will solve the issues at hand. Growing the government is exactly the wrong way to go. Government IS THE PROBLEM. And yes President Bush did a lot wrong and I told him so. BUT, don’t tell me about that it’s all President Bush’s fault. He also inherited a recession along with that, 9-11 happened. So he did keep the country safe for the over seven years by going after the perpetrators (terrorists) taking the war to them. Don’t forget, the roots of the current problems are rooted back in 1978, remember President Carter? If you don’t know, do a little research before to reply or post.
Hey, I’ll even have a beer with President Obama; he can buy. You know, “spread the wealth”.
Regards,
P.
Why is this stimulus bill so full of pork? Surprised? I hope not, and this is just the beginning. If the Democrats are so in love with this bill, well let them wright the government a big fat check of their own money and set an example for all the rest of us non-sheep. Ready to hold your breath.
Go Rush!
Ahmen…I say ahmen…it’s governments that are bankrupt…all of them controlled by DemocRats…
Well have you tried their website lately? You can’t get to any page without being sent to a donation page. It’s laughable. I think you guys should start rolling out the Palin attack machine.
I don’t understand this post at all? Haven’t the democrats been the ones in control of congress when all of these things have happened? Do they think it is coincidence that none of this happened till after the democrats gained control of congress? Is it not Congress that the Constitution gives economic powers to? Or am I just crazy…?
