PA-11: Poll Shows Kanjorski with 9-point Lead Over Barletta

DCCC Press:

A Grove Insight poll conducted September 14 - 15 of 400 likely voters with a 4.9% margin of error shows that Congressman Paul Kanjorski holds a 9 point lead over Republican challenger Lou Barletta (48-39% with 14% undecided).  When asked who is "a strong leader with a proven record" 46% of respondents said Kanjorski and only 28% said Barletta.  The poll also showed that 41% of voters believe that Paul Kanjorski will "stand up for the middle class" as compared to 30% for Barletta.

"This poll shows that Pennsylvanians view Congressman Kanjorski as the best leader to address sky rocketing gas prices and to stand up for the middle class in Congress," said Carrie James, regional press secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  "With a weakened economy and retirement savings for so many at risk, Pennsylvanians certainly aren't going to trust their future with risky Lou Barletta and his dangerous George Bush Social Security privatization scheme."
