Suzanne Kosmas Leading by 23 Points in New FL-24 Poll

Share

DCCC Press:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released a new Greenberg Quinlan Rosner poll today conducted October 14-15 that shows Democrat Suzanne Kosmas leading incumbent Representative Tom Feeney by 23 points in the race for Florida's 24th Congressional District (58 percent to 35 percent).  The poll surveyed 400 likely voters and has a 4.9 percent margin of error.

Voters in Florida's 24th district view Tom Feeney extremely negatively (28 percent favorable to 51 percent unfavorable), while Suzanne Kosmas continues to be viewed in a positive light (37 percent favorable to 11 percent unfavorable).  Also 50 percent of voters think the phrase "puts lobbyists and corporate special interests first" describes Feeney well.

"The more voters learn about Tom Feeney's corrupt ties to convicted lobbyists and his involvement in an FBI investigation, the more they are rejecting Tom Feeney and everything he stands for," said Kyra Jennings, Southern Regional Press Secretary at the DCCC.  "The voters of Florida's 24th District clearly believe that Suzanne Kosmas shares their priorities and plan to stand with her and get rid of their current dishonest representative on Election Day."

Yes! What great news for those of us living in District 24. I was glad to cast my early vote for Obama and Kosmas!!

Being concerned for this coming election it is the obligation of everyone to cast his or her votes, as of now there are only a few days until the next election. It happens Tuesday, November 4th. This is easily the most important election in living memory. However, I never have put much stock into the “political polls,” which are taken as fact by the major news outlets. The reason is that you never know just how those polls’ results are derived. If you have 2/3 of a sample (that’s what the group that is questioned for their opinions is called, a sample) saying that they, per se, intend to vote for Obama instead of McCain, you don’t know what you’re really hearing. The entire population of the United States of America, including all expatriates still retaining citizenship, along with citizens of the territories, has not and couldn’t possibly be sampled. What the 2/3 of the sample means is that 2/3 of the sampled population intends to vote for Obama. The sample could be almost anything; they don’t include the sampling data along with their poll results, so you don’t know just who or what may have contributed to that large of a skew in the data. Don’t let the media cast your vote for you; vote however you think is best.

I am delighted to hear that Suzanne Kosmas is leading Tom Feeney in the polls.  I already voted early for Kosmos and hope she will be going to Washington.  Feeney is hateful and narrow minded, corrupt, and does not represent me.  I wish Kosmas victory and a long, successful career.
