We Did It!
DCCC Executive Director Jon Vogel sent the following message to DCCC supporters
Dear Friend,
From now on, there will be no doubt that President Obama has
the grassroots support he needs to bring real change to America.
Thanks to you, we didn't just meet our June 30th
grassroots fundraising goal - we shattered it by raising an astounding $1.2
million. Your astounding show of support on Tuesday alone brought in more
contributions to the DCCC than on any day since President Obama's election. We
can't thank you enough. Moreover, your contributions will be matched 2-to-1 by
House Democrats - tripling your impact.
Your support is
already driving historic change. Last Friday, the House passed the American
Clean Energy and Security Act to create jobs, fight climate change, and get
America running on clean energy.
Here is what Vice President Al Gore had to
say:
"Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Leadership of the House, and Chairmen Waxman and Markey have, through their leadership, secured an important bipartisan victory for the American people. The American Clean Energy Security (ACES) Act is one of the most important pieces of legislation Congress will ever pass."

That's not all.
There are so many other ways that your grassroots support is having an immediate
impact:
- You're helping us hold Republicans' feet to the fire with an Independence Day radio ad campaign highlighting the GOP's hypocrisy.
- You're leading the charge for historic health care reform at our Health Care Action Center.
- Thousands and thousands of you have watched our "Hope or Failure?" web video and signed our Hope Cards showing the world that Democrats stand with President Obama. If you haven't already done so, add your signature and send a message to President Obama.
But in
politics, there is no rest for the weary. National Republicans are already
launching ads attacking President Obama and our proud Democrats in Congress for
passing the landmark clean energy bill. We know that more ferocious Republican
attacks are on the way against President Obama's biggest Congressional allies so
it's critical that we stay on guard.
