DCCC Launching New Ads About Republicans’ Protecting Insurance Companies Over Middle Class

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) continued on offense today, launching new online ads exposing House Republicans’ plan to protect insurance company profits at the expense of middle class patients’ health care. House Republicans and outside affiliated groups have raked in hundreds of millions from insurance companies. House Republicans are choosing to protect these insurance company campaign contributors instead of focusing on creating jobs and strengthening the middle class.

The new online ads begin today targeting seven vulnerable House Republicans in the latest phase of the DCCC’s “Drive for 25” campaign to win the Majority.

An example of the new online ad targeting Congresswoman Bono Mack (CA-36) can be seen here:

“Democrats continue to be on offense as House Republicans vote this week to protect the profits of their insurance company campaign donors instead of consumer protections for patients and lower prescription drug costs for seniors,” said DCCC Chairman Steve Israel. “House Republicans are sending an unmistakable message to voters that Republicans want to cut benefits for middle class families and protect insurance companies instead.  The American people don’t want more of these political stunts from Republicans to pander to special interests, they want action to strengthen the middle class and create jobs.”

The text of the script for this ad targeting Congresswoman Bono Mack (CA-36) follows:

Carla knows the breast cancer screening she got saved her life. Carla doesn’t know that her Congresswoman Bono Mack may vote to repeal the law that added preventative coverage to Medicare. But she might…

Your Member of Congress may vote to repeal important health care benefits for everyday Americans. But she protected ‘generous’ health plans for Congress at taxpayer expense.

Tell Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack: she shouldn’t repeal our benefits if she wants to keep her’s.
