BREAKING: Another Poll Shows Democrats Take Lead For House After Momentum-Changing August
A newly released Reuters/Ipsos generic ballot for Congress shows Democrats have taken a 6 point lead (49% to 43%) since Congressman Paul Ryan was picked and his budget became the running mate for every House Republican. In the beginning of August, this same poll showed the race tied at 46 percent.
Two other recent polls confirm the momentum this August for Democrats in the battle for the House:
· Earlier this week, a PPP poll showed voters prefer Democrats over Republicans for Congress by 6 points (49% to 43%) This same poll in July showed the race tied (45% to 45%).
· At the end of August, a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed Democrats have taken a 5-point lead in the generic ballot for Congress (47% to 42 %). Democrats had a 1-point lead (46% to 45%) in this same poll the month before.
