Congressman Jim Renacci Named as “Corrupt Republican of the Month”

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) today named Congressman Jim Renacci (OH-16) as the “Corrupt Republican of the Month” after the FBI launched an investigation into $110,250 in questionable campaign donations from employees of Suarez Corporation Industries and their spouses, some of whom may not have had the means to contribute.  Congressman Renacci refuses to return the suspect campaign contributions, even though the Republican Senate candidate has already done so. Congressman Renacci is the latest member of the Republican HouseOfScandal.com and is the 8th Republican Member facing an FBI investigation.

“Congressman Jim Renacci is under FBI investigation for taking $110,250 in suspect campaign cash and refuses to return the money,” said Jesse Ferguson of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Congressman Renacci is ‘Corrupt Republican of the Month’ and is part of the Republican House of Scandal. Just like many other House Republicans, Congressman Renacci will face a scorching hot summer from voters who are fed up with the scandal-ridden Republican Majority that protects their own jobs, millionaires, Big Oil, and corporations that ship jobs overseas over middle class families and seniors.”

Republican Leaders pledged a “zero-tolerance” policy on ethics and recently NRCC Chairman Pete Session said it was important “every single Republican” has “high character value,” but they have stood behind their scandal-plagued Members including Renacci. HouseOfScandal.com is a clearinghouse for voters to get information about the growing list of Republican Members facing ethics scandals and corruption.

Each month a House Republican is named “Corrupt Republican of the Month” on HouseOfScandal.com for their ethics scandals or corruption.
