DCCC Chairman Steve Israel’s Statement On FAA’s Partial Shutdown
DCCC Chairman Steve Israel released the following statement after House Republicans left town without ending the FAA's partial shutdown:
"After grounding the FAA, House Republicans flew out of town and recklessly left thousands of workers out of work and billions in taxpayer money uncollected. Their extreme agenda is so reckless that some safety inspectors are even having to work without pay and are being forced to pay out of pocket to fly to inspection sites."
"House Republicans' failure to do their job is costing thousands of jobs for hardworking Americans and costing taxpayers more than $1 billion this August. Americans want job creation and deficit reduction, but House Republicans have again made the wrong choices to pander to the right-wing."
