DCCC Chairman Steve Israel’s Statement on Middle Class Tax Cuts

DCCC Chairman Steve Israel released the following statement after House Republicans extended tax breaks for millionaire, while holding tax cuts captive for the middle class and small businesses:

“House Republicans just took the middle class and small businesses hostage to their demands of more tax breaks for millionaires, Big Oil and corporations shipping American jobs overseas.

“If you’re a middle class family, a senior, a teacher, a firefighter, or a cop, you lose your tax cut unless House Republicans can deliver a $160,000 tax break for their millionaire campaign contributors. Voters will reject House Republicans as long as they protect millionaires ahead of seniors and the middle class.”
