DCCC Launches Paid Ads Against 32 Republicans Who Refuse to Rule Out Another Shutdown

Most House Republicans refuse to rule out yet another reckless shutdown over defunding the Affordable Care Act – even as the next fiscal showdown is coming in January.

Republican Leadership and this Republican Congress haven’t passed a budget to avoid another government shutdown that’s coming in just 60 days – leaving Americans vulnerable to another government shutdown over the Tea Party demand to defund the Affordable Care Act. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a paid Facebook ad campaign against 32 Republicans because this Republican Congress hasn’t passed a budget to avoid a government shutdown.

“These House Republicans learned nothing from their last showdown, and while the American people want them to work together on solutions, they haven’t passed a budget that gives up on the irresponsible demand to defund the Affordable Care Act – leading to another reckless shutdown,” said Emily Bittner of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “With only 60 days until the Republican Congress brings us another government shutdown, when will these House Republicans give up their Tea Party demands and back a commonsense budget that takes a balanced approach?”
