DCCC Raises $2.3 Million Post-Health Care Ruling and Posts Biggest Online Day in History

Fueled by our grassroots support, Democrats are on offense on health care.  DCCC Chairman Steve Israel announced today that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has raised $2.3 million from nearly 65,000 grassroots donations since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Affordable Care Act. The average contribution was $35, and Saturday was the single biggest grassroots fundraising day in DCCC history.

“Our grassroots support has been absolutely off the charts and House Democrats are shattering records because Americans are energized about historic protections for middle class health care consumers and appalled that Republicans plan to vote to put insurance companies back in charge of their health care,” said DCCC Chairman Steve Israel. “House Democrats are on offense and will continue to unmask this House Republicans Majority’s reckless agenda that started with drastically cutting Medicare for seniors to protect millionaires and is now determined to repeal health care consumer protections for families to protect insurance company profits.”

Just yesterday, the DCCC launched a new campaign to expose House Republicans working for the interest of insurance company contributors instead of the middle class with automated and live phone calls in 10 targeted districts.
