Democratic Momentum Grows, More Polls Show House Democrats Ahead
Two new polls in the last 24 hours show Democratic momentum with voters preferring to elect Democrats to Congress this November.
- A newly released Public Policy Polling poll today shows Democrats now leading the generic congressional ballot by 8 points (50 percent to 42 percent). Democrats only led PPP’s generic ballot by 2 points earlier this month.
- In a poll done by the Republican firm Resurgent Republic, voters prefer to elect Democrats to Congress over Republicans by 4 points (44 percent to 40 percent).
These polls come after a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll last week showed Democrats leading by 5 points in the generic congressional (47 percent to 42 percent). In mid-July, this same poll showed Democrats with a 1-point lead (46 percent to 45 percent).
