First DCCC TV Ad Targets Congressman Benishek for Ending Medicare
The DCCC continued on offense over Medicare today, releasing the first Independent Expenditure campaign TV ad of the cycle hitting Congressman Dan Benishek (MI-01) on his support of Paul Ryan’s budget that ends Medicare, raising health care costs for seniors to pay for more tax breaks for millionaires. The DCCC ad will begin running Thursday.
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office found that the Ryan plan would raise health care costs for seniors by $6,400 while the Tax Policy Center found it would cut taxes for people making over $1 million a year by $265,000.
Since Ryan was named to lead Congressman Benishek’s ticket this weekend, Democrats and Republicans have agreed it could cost Republicans competitive seats in Congress like this one.
