The chairman of the Sept. 11 commission denies panel members are grandstanding or showing partisanship but says they plan a more low-key approach as they put together recommendations for a final report.
And what was the central citation for the “partisanship” of the Democratic Comissioners?
Democratic commissioners Bob Kerrey and Richard Ben-Veniste used time for questioning to voice personal opinions about potential military action prior to Sept. 11 or comment on the significance of an Aug. 6, 2001, intelligence memo read by President Bush.
Yeah, why didn’t they just let it stand that it was a “historical document”? Why would they have to waste time talking about their “opinions” on that?
And, yes, Mr. DeLay, I hope you’re happy:
The FBI is looking into death threats against a member of the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Former Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick was the target of pointed criticism last week from Attorney General John Ashcroft during his testimony, and that prompted calls for her resignation.
So now we can get back to hearing the opinions of Fox News’ hacks in peace and without interruption, and Jamie Gorelick can be intimidated into resignation. All is right in Bushworld.
