The Ballad of Thad McCotter

Congressman Thad McCotter was kicked off the ballot trying to keep his House seat because he failed spectacularly to get enough valid signatures. The state is launching a criminal investigation into his fraudulent petitions. Local Republicans are turning on him. National Republicans are reportedly “holding their nose” in coming to his aid. And with an expensive write-in campaign as the only option, Congressman McCotter faces an uphill battle that puts his seat at risk.

Perhaps it’s time McCotter quits the day job and sets his woes to music:

McCotter's sure down on his luck

His Seize Freedom! sales kind of suck

Running for president - sheer vanity

Fox's Red Eye over Livonia - the humanity!

Out of touchness costs more than a buck

Oh what poor fate has befallen Rep. Thad

Nearly all his signatures are bad

Quite the amateur's blunder

11th CD GOP cast asunder

No R seat Obama won’s ironclad

"McCotter's Mcfoul-up" reads the News

A tough write-in campaign he could lose

The cost profound

As fraud charges abound

And Thad's likely left singing the blues
