Van Hollen Congratulates Congresswoman-elect Judy Chu

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on the special election runoff to represent California's 32^nd Congressional District:

"Congratulations to Congresswoman-elect Judy Chu on her victory in the special election to represent California's 32nd District in Congress.

"For more than 23 years, Judy Chu has fought for bipartisan change. Her broad experience as a School Board Member, a Mayor, a State Assemblywoman, and a leader on the California State Board of Equalization gives her a unique understanding of the challenges shared by California's middle class families in these tough economic times.

"I look forward to welcoming Congresswoman-elect Judy Chu to Congress and working with her to help President Obama get the economy back on track, enact health care reform, a new clean energy policy that creates jobs."

The Congressional seat in California's 32^nd District was left vacant when Hilda Solis became U.S. Labor Secretary for President Obama.
