Van Hollen’s Statement on Bill Owens in NY-23

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on Bill Owens, who was endorsed by the local Democratic county chairs for the upcoming Special Election to represent New York's 23rd Congressional District.

"Congratulations to Bill Owens.

"As a business leader and a former Air Force Captain, Bill Owens has first-hand experience serving his country and creating jobs in New York.

"He would be a strong advocate for New York families and bring the solutions-oriented leadership they need right now in Washington."

The upcoming Special Election in New York's 23^rd Congressional District will fill the anticipated vacancy by Congressman John McHugh, who was nominated by President Obama to serve as Secretary of the U.S. Army.
