GOP Hitman Stone in NY-20

Share

Roger Stone, the GOP hitman behind the so-called "Brooks Brothers Riot" during the Florida 2000 presidential recount, has landed in NY-20. Stone is denying any formal role in the ongoing NY-20 ballot counting but local blog "The Albany Project" claims this picture was taken minutes after he left GOP candidate Jim Tedisco's headquarters.

Stone: Pro-Tedisco, But Just Visiting

April 8, 2009

GOP consultant Roger Stone, whose presence in the 20th CD has drawn the attention of The Albany Project's Phillip Anderson, and other left-leaning bloggers, insisted in a brief e-mail exchange that he "has no formal role" in the post-special election ballot-counting effort.

"My parents still live in Northern Westchester." Stone wrote. "I visited them at the end of last week and then drove up to the Albany area to see some friends...I certainly have no formal role in the recount. I have many friends of long standing who are involved."

That's pretty much all I could get out of him after trying to reach him on several occasions.

He declined to say much more, and also declined to respond to any of the postings at TAP, which he referred to as "left-wing blog crap," adding in vintage Stone style: "Liberals are paranoid."
