As reported today by Talking Points Memo, the White House’s outreach to Latinos to sign up for healthcare coverage has been halted as part of this Administration’s cold-hearted efforts to let the Affordable Care Act implode. This is the latest example of this Administration turning its back on the Latino community.
DCCC Hispanic Media Director Javier Gamboa issued the following statement on this very concerning development:
“Millions of Latinos have benefited from the Affordable Care Act and there still many in our community who lack basic health care coverage. President Trump’s actions are mean-spirited and cruel,” said Javier Gamboa of the DCCC. “This callous act by President Trump is yet another example of how out of touch Republicans in Washington are with the Latino community. Make no mistake, these actions will have major consequences at the ballot box.
“As the Republican credibility continues to be diminished by this Administration in heavily Latino districts, vulnerable Republican Representatives, like Carlos Curbelo, Mario Diaz-Balart, Will Hurd, Mike Coffman, Jeff Denham and David Valadao will be held accountable for their actions and their President.”
