Trump’s primary victory last night in Indiana coupled with John Kasich’s and Ted Cruz’s withdrawals from the presidential race mean vulnerable Central Valley Republican Congressmen Jeff Denham and David Valadao face the reality that they’re really, actually, truly sharing the ticket with Donald Trump.

Cook Political Report said these two “have to be wary of a potential Trump-generated awakening of dormant Latino electorates,” which makes sense, since 77% of California Latinos strongly dislike Trump.

Oddly, Rep. Denham actually reached his acceptance phase early. Months ago Denham praised Trump, said he wouldn’t rule out supporting him, and said he would support the eventual nominee. It’s time for Rep. Denham to put that endorsement down in writing.

Rep. Valadao, on the other hand, was worried from the start. Valadao first said he would support the eventual nominee, then walked it back after admitting it could hurt his reelection chances. Yes, yes it will.

“It’s too little, too late for vulnerable Central Valley Republicans Denham and Valadao to distance themselves from Trump,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “Denham and Valadao are sharing the ballot with Trump whether they like it or not.”
