About Gary Trauner

Gary Trauner, 49, is a husband, father, businessman, entrepreneur, community volunteer, and former elected official residing in Wilson, Wyoming. Eighteen years ago, he and his wife Terry chose Wyoming as the place they wanted to live and raise a family; they are now the proud parents of two Wyoming born-and-raised young boys - ages 14 and 8.

In 2006, Gary ran an old-fashioned, retail campaign for Wyoming’s lone seat in the US House of Representatives. Gary’s campaign centered on his wish to restore leadership, integrity, a commitment to service and a willingness to do the right thing, regardless of party or political consequences, for all the people of Wyoming.

Gary has been active in public service throughout his adult life, serving in both elected and appointed capacities.  He is immediate past Chairman of the Teton County School District #1 Board of Trustees, a countywide elected position.  In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Aspens Water & Sewer District, an elected office, serving a significant population within Teton County, WY.  Gary is a former Vice-Chairman of the Teton County Pathways Task Force, and is currently a member of the Open Range Committee of the Jackson Hole Land Trust, an organization devoted to preserving land integrity by working with landowners and utilizing market-based tools.

Although he has considerable professional experience with both private and public companies, Gary is, at heart, a financial entrepreneur.  Most recently, he co-founded and currently serves as CFO for Cell Response Formulation, LLC, a health and nutrition company.  Prior to that, he was co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of OneWest.net, a regional Internet Service Provider and Vice President – Finance of Teton Trust Company, one of the first private trust investment firms in the state of Wyoming. Through his work with growing companies, Gary has seen firsthand the issues that matter to most working people – how to pay for health care, how to achieve a quality education, how to juggle work and family, how to provide a decent living wage, and freedom from unreasonable government and corporate intrusion.

Gary graduated from Colgate University and obtained a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Stern School of Business at NYU. Terry, Gary’s wife of over eighteen years, is co-owner of a growing Wyoming-based small business.

“I want to ensure that Wyoming and the United States are prosperous and secure. I want to ensure that we are committed to democracy and our constitution, that we respect and celebrate our diversity, that we provide equal opportunity for all and that we define ourselves not only by our economic prosperity, but by the quality of our lives and how we interact with others.”
