DCCC Ad: Katko “Head of the Class” in Special Interest Cash

A new DCCC ad released today highlights Congressman John Katko’s record of taking campaign cash from special interests and fighting for their agenda in Congress, not Central New York.

Over half of Katko’s campaign donations are from corporate special interest groups, making him one of the top freshman recipients of special interest cash in the country.

Katko was even called quote “Washington’s PAC man” by the Post Standard, who also said that “special-interest groups flood Rep. John Katko with campaign cash from Washington” just months after he took office.

Look no further than Katko’s voting record. In Congress, Katko has helped his wealthy campaign donors by refusing to close tax loopholes that benefit tax dodging corporations and has supported policies that benefit billionaires.

“The story that Congressman John Katko doesn’t want voters to know is that as soon as he got to Washington he immediately pocketed special interest cash and started doing their bidding, like when he refused to close tax loopholes that benefit tax dodging corporations,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “What’s abundantly clear is that Washington’s PAC Man John Katko does not side with Central New York, he sides with special interests.”

Narrator: After John Katko got to Washington, he rose to the head of the class in special interest cash.

Just after taking office, special interest groups flooded Katko with donations.

Katko joined with Washington Republicans to help wealthy donors and allowed huge loopholes that benefit tax-dodging corporations.

Truth is, Katko has taken over half of his campaign donations from special interests.

John Katko. Head of the class for raising cash but failing Central New York families.
