DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján released the following statement about President Obama’s action on immigration after House Republicans have refused to act:
“Americans of all political stripes want to fix our broken immigration system, but Republicans have refused to even let us vote on a comprehensive solution. On behalf of the millions of families and businesses that support a solution, President Obama is moving forward much like President Bush did. I still hope that Speaker Boehner will allow us to vote on a bipartisan compromise bill similar to what Republican Senators helped pass more than 500 days ago. Until that time, the President’s legal action will ensure that millions of men and women who work hard and pay taxes can now stay with their families.”
