October: The DCCC raised $5.4 million in October alone, compared to NRCC’s $5.1 million.
The DCCC success compared to the NRCC this month is particularly noteworthy, given the emergency transfer of $1.7 million from Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy to the NRCC.
Cash on Hand: The DCCC now has over $24.4 million Cash on Hand, which surpasses the NRCC’s $22.9 million in the bank. The DCCC is in a very strong financial position, with significantly more than double the $9.46 million that the Committee had at this point in 2011, the last presidential cycle.
For the seventh month in a row, the DCCC carries no debt.
Why the DCCC success?
- Democrats are united and rallying together in huge numbers: as of October, 151 members– 80% of the Democratic Caucus – had paid dues.
- Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi is a fundraising force, both among grassroots and major donors. Along with Leader Pelosi, DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Lujan is sustaining a blistering pace of fundraising around the country and urging his colleagues to demonstrate that Democrats are a strong united force through dues paying.
- Grassroots supporters have also dug deep to elect House Democrats. The DCCC has already raised over 1 million grassroots donations this year
