Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a targeted digital ad campaign highlighting One-Term-Wonder Congressman Will Hurd’s declaration of independence from the House Small Business Committee.

After just two months on the job, Will Hurd declared he had enough of working to help small businesses in Southwest Texas. He sent a letter to Speaker Boehner resigning his post on the committee, claiming he needed to focus his attention elsewhere.

“It would be hard to think of any issues more important than the economy and the growth of small businesses in Southwest Texas,” said Matt Thornton of DCCC. “Ironically during the campaign, Hurd constantly spoke of his plans to aid the economy and help small businesses succeed. His resignation from the very committee intended to help small businesses shows just how little of a priority it actually is.”
