DCCC Launches Spanish Robocalls Targeting Heck & Hardy for Siding with Anti-Immigration Hardliners Over DREAMers

Today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is launching Spanish robocalls highlighting Heck & Hardy’s recent vote against DREAMers who want to serve in our military. During consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act, Heck & Hardy voted with the immigration extremists in their party, rather than with hardworking young people who came to this country through no fault of their own and now want a chance to serve in our nation’s military.

“It is clear that today’s Republican Party is controlled by immigration hardliners who have no appreciation for the contributions DREAMers make to our nation and want to make to our armed forces,” said Matt Thornton of the DCCC. “Anti-immigration extremists are calling the shots and Congressmembers Heck and Hardy are all too happy to go along. This week, we are calling voters in Nevada’s 3rd and 4th Districts to make sure they know that they lack the courage to do the right thing.”

Following is the script for robocalls that will reach Spanish-speaking households throughout NV-03 and NV04:

Joe Heck (NV-03)

English Version:

“This is XXX calling from the DCCC. Recently, Republicans in Congress and Congressman Joe Heck voted to deny children brought to the U.S. through no fault of their own or “DREAMers” a chance to serve in our nation’s military.

Honorable young men and women that want to volunteer to risk their lives for our country’s safety and security deserve the chance to serve.

Instead, Republicans in Congress continue to unfairly discriminate against DREAMers.

Call Congressman Heck at 702-387-4941 and tell him that DREAMers who want to serve deserve our thanks, not more discrimination.”

Cresent Hardy (NV-04)
