DCCC Launches Two News Ads in AZ-02: ‘Cuts’ and ‘Idle,’ Showing How Martha McSally’s Agenda Would Hurt Southern Arizona Middle Class Families

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released two new television ads in Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District: “Cuts” and “Idle.” Both ads will begin running today and show how McSally would hurt middle class families.

The spots zero in on Martha McSally’s reckless agenda: opposing efforts to make college more affordable, ending the federal student loan program, and privatizing Social Security and Medicare.

SCRIPT OF DCCC IE AD: “CUTS”:

Announcer: Thousands of dollars more a year.

That’s how much more I’ll have to pay for Medicare if Martha McSally gets her way.

And it’ll be twice as much for the both of us.

We saved for retirement. Played by the rules Martha McSally wants them to change.

She’d privatize Medicare. And Social Security too.

McSally wants to risk our life savings on Wall Street.

Thousands of dollars a year? Martha McSally, that’s change we can’t afford.

SCRIPT OF DCCC IE AD: “IDLE”:

Announcer: College tuition in Arizona has increased 70 percent over the last five years.

The result?

Students graduate with mountains of debt

Others…locked out of college altogether. And Martha McSally’s response?

“I would propose no legislation in order to address these rising costs.”

Worse? McSally would end federal student loans altogether.

If Martha McSally won’t work to make college affordable…

Then why would we want her to work for us?
