DCCC Hispanic Media Director Javier Gamboa, issued the following statement regarding the first detention of a lawful DACA recipient under President Trump’s administration:
“President Trump’s mass deportation force is now going after lawful DACA recipients, in addition to tearing apart families and sowing fear in Latino and immigrant communities across the nation. This is a direct contradiction of the Trump Administration’s claims that deportations would only focus on those here who make us less safe. Republicans’ silence on the recent deportations is shameful and a betrayal to nuestra comunidad, especially those Republicans who ran campaigns against President Trump’s immigration policies. Our fellow American, Daniel Ramirez, must be released.”
