DCCC Spokesman Evan Lukaske issued the following statement on Representative Tom MacArthur’s removal as Tuesday Group co-chair just weeks after rumors surfaced that his colleagues “might oust him as leader”:
“From passing the MacArthur Amendment gutting protections for pre-existing conditions to his attempts to exempt members of Congress from his own disastrous repeal and ripoff bill, Representative MacArthur has shown a disturbing lack of regard for the families of his district. Coupled with his partnership with the far-right Freedom Caucus, MacArthur’s removal as co-chair of the Tuesday group should finally put to bed the myth of MacArthur as anything other than a right-wing ideologue.”
