With the House in Play, Republicans push ahead on repeal bill supported by 16% of Americans

With the House in play in 2018 and Republicans pushing ahead with a bill that has a 16% approval rating, DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law released the following statement:

“Make no mistake about it, House Republican moral cowardice is at fault for the health care disaster America faces right now. This horrific Repeal and Ripoff bill was written behind closed doors and would not be headed to a vote in the Senate this week if Speaker Ryan and House Republicans did not choose this path. Remember: House Republicans are already on record supporting a bill to rip insurance from 23 million Americans, raise your premiums, slap an age tax on folks over 50, and destroy protections for people with preexisting conditions. As a result, no matter what happens this week, vulnerable House Republicans have already made their beds. In 2018, they’ll have to lie in them.”
