Poliquin (and his hilarious manufactured crisis) still the laughing stock of Maine

Bruce Poliquin’s manufactured crisis is still facing ridicule at the national level and back at home.

Yesterday, a local blogger pointed out the absurdity of Poliquin’s publicity stunt:

“According to the CIA or some other equally reliable but possibly fictional government agency, every dangerous fanatic – from Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh to South Carolina church shooter Dylann Roof to Boston Marathon creepo Dzhokhar Tsarnaev – wanted exactly the same thing:

Food stamps.

Apparently, killing innocent people for hazy ideological reasons works up quite an appetite, but not much income.”

And a recent Vice story summed up Poliquin’s manufactured crisis this way: “If voters in the terrorist hotspot of Maine’s second district want to make sure their tax dollars aren’t feeding terrorists, they know who to vote for.”

Quick refresher: This all started when Poliquin tried to pull off a PR stunt on his new bill that spectacularly flopped when he confirmed that his bill addressed “an issue he admits hasn’t been a problem yet.” Poliquin and his bill garnered ridicule from both local Maine press and his own constituents.

“Bruce’s Poliquin’s hilarious manufactured crisis is still the laughing stock of Maine, and it just further shows that he can’t be taken seriously on protecting the home front and taking the down the terrorists. For Poliquin, it’s all about scoring political points,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC.
