The Denver Post and 9News (NBC) are reporting on the swift backlash that Congressman Mike Coffman faced from his constituents during a public meeting as a result of voting to start repealing the Affordable Care Act on Friday. 9News reporter caught Coffman on video escaping out of the backdoor rather than facing those who had come to see him to discuss a variety of important issues, including their concern over his ACA vote.
The Denver Post stressed in their reporting that Coffman has not held a single public meeting with his constituents since June.

When Berthie Ruoff arrived at the Aurora Central Library to meet with Congressman Mike Coffman, she was hopeful to find encouraging answers about the impending changes to the Affordable Care Act.
“My husband passed away and the only way I was able to get insurance was through the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare,” Ruoff said.
When she walked in, she saw a crowd she didn’t expect.
“There were hundreds of people here,” Ruoff said.
Krondia Siebert just wanted Coffman to hear her concerns. But, she ended up trying to organize the crowd that gathered outside the large community room.
“The Representative didn’t have a plan. They expected just a small handful of people to show up,” Siebert said. “We were under the understanding it was a town hall meeting and they were only allowing four people in at a time.”

Nelson Garcia, a 9News reporter, tweeted from Saturday’s event said the crowd was “frustrated” because many didn’t get to meet with Coffman. And two hours into the meeting around 4 p.m., Coffman left. “While more than 100 people were waiting to meet with him, Mike Coffman sneaks out early from his own community event. #9News,” tweeted Garcia.
