Congressman Hurd’s constituents would like a word with him. As Republicans in Washington are preparing to repeal the Affordable Care Act without a replacement and President Trump is moving ahead with his border wall and deportation force, Congressman Hurd is nowhere to be found.

“Texans are concerned about Republican plans to take health care away from thousands with no plan for a replacement and they’re upset that Congressman Hurd is ignoring them while Republicans in Congress march in lock step with President Trump’s reckless agenda,” said DCCC spokesperson Javier Gamboa. “There is too much on the line for Texas families for Congressman Hurd to hide from his constituents. It’s time for him to do his job and hold a public town hall.”

“Almost 80 constituents gathered at Representative Will Hurd’s North Side office to complain that Hurd has not planned town hall meetings for San Antonio. They wanted to talk to the Republican about their opposition to expanded deportations, the border wall, and GOP plans to repeal the Affordable Care Act.”

“Voters and other protestors from left-leaning groups like Mi Familia Vota and Texas 23 Indivisible plan to keep pressuring Congressman Hurd for a town hall. Abuabara denies that she and others are being paid to protest. ‘That’s crazy. I don’t get paid,’ she said. ‘This is first-time activism for me.’”

The group says the two-term Republican is ignoring constituents and want a town hall meeting with him. They want to discuss hot button issues such as the Affordable Care Act and the Border Wall. They’re also upset with the representative’s voting record which, they say, falls in line with President Donald Trump’s agenda.
