New DCCC Poll: Schneider Holds 8-Point Lead Over Bob Dold

Dold has high unfavorabilities among likely voters

Former Democratic Congressman Brad Schneider holds an 8-point lead over Republican Congressman Bob Dold, according to a poll conducted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Schneider also holds a 15-point lead among Independents, an 11-point lead among women, and a 6-point lead among voters who report they are “very likely to vote” in the 2016 election.

What’s more, more than a third of likely voters hold an unfavorable view of Bob Dold. This pattern is even more pronounced among Independents, women, and younger voters.

“After Republican Bob Dold has spent the first 10 months of the 114th Congress crafting secret legislative agenda with his party’s leadership and talking out of both sides of his mouth on every issue, Illinois voters are clearly looking for other options,” said Sacha Haworth of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Brad Schneider’s standing as a former member of Congress guarantees he has the resources and relationships to take back Illinois’ 10th District in 2016.”
