DCCC Continues to Break Fundraising Records, Tops NRCC by $2.6 Million

Building on Nationwide Support for Change and a New Direction, the DCCC Continues Successful Cycle by Posting Record

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced unprecedented momentum coming out of the second quarter of the election year, and record-breaking fundraising totals heading into Election Day. The DCCC continues its record-setting fundraising, highly successful recruiting and national successes as the Republican Party’s status quo policies weigh heavily on middle class families.

In May of 2006, the DCCC raised $5.5 million, and ended the month with $24.5 million cash-on-hand.

With donors and activists across the country, we are building a campaign to fight for the new direction.

“These new funds are exactly what we need to fight for the new direction that the American people want and deserve,” said Rep. Rahm Emanuel, Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “While all the Republicans have to offer the American people is two more years just like the last six, and a wageless recovery and an endless occupation, Democrats are fighting for change.”
