DCCC Statement on Ney Aide Subpoena

(Washington, D.C.) – According to Roll Call, Matt Parker, district director in Ney’s office in St. Clairsville, Ohio, was subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury conducting the Abramoff probe. Additional subpoenas of Ney’s staffers are expected soon, said a source familiar with situation.

“Though Bob Ney assures Ohio families he has done nothing wrong, with more close associates subpoenaed or indicted Ney’s cover-ups could soon become bright orange coveralls,” said Bill Burton, communications director for the DCCC. “The truth is, Bob Ney’s record on jobs, health care and gas prices have been as damaging for Ohio families as any deals he’s had with Jack Abramoff.”
