Chairman Israel Statement on Grace Meng’s Nomination in New York’s 6th Congressional District
DCCC Chairman Steve Israel released the following statement on Grace Meng’s nomination as the Democratic candidate in New York’s 6th district, an open seat.
“On behalf of the DCCC, congratulations to Assemblywoman Grace Meng on the nomination. Grace will become the first Asian American elected to Congress from New York and will be a forceful voice for Queens. In Congress, Grace will stand strong against the Republicans’ wrong priorities that give tax breaks to millionaires at the expense of middle class families, and protect Big Oil and companies shipping jobs overseas instead of creating jobs here at home.”
