DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen’s Statement on the Caucus Win

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on Andre Carson’s caucus win in the special election to represent Indiana’s 7th Congressional District.

“Congratulations to Andre Carson on his victory. Mr. Carson is a strong leader, building on his grandmother’s work on behalf of the people of Indianapolis,” said Chairman Chris Van Hollen. “Mr. Carson is a committed advocate for Indiana’s 7th District and will be a great asset to the Democratic Majority.”

The Congressional seat in Indiana’s 7th Congressional District was left vacant by the passing of Mr. Carson’s grandmother, Congresswoman Julia Carson, on December 15, 2007.
