DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen’s Statement on Republicans Playing Politics With Health Care Reform
DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on the Republicans' deliberate effort to obstruct President Obama's heath care reform effort:
"While President Obama and House Democrats are offering solutions to fix America's broken health care system, Congressional Republicans are offering nothing more than the same old Washington finger-pointing and their just-say-no defense of the status quo.
"Without action, health care costs for the average family of four will rise $1,800 every year for years to come. Yet the Republican Party continues to talk of ‘killing' health care reform and ‘breaking' President Obama politically.
"In these tough economic times, families are looking to Washington for solutions to lower health care costs, and provide them with greater options and a higher quality of care. Republicans should immediately put an end to their political games and join President Obama and House Democrats in fixing America's broken health care system."
