DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen’s Statement on Senator Ted Kennedy

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on the news that Senator Ted Kennedy was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor:

“Today’s sad news about Senator Ted Kennedy’s health is being met with grave concern among our Democratic Caucus and throughout America.

“For more than 40 years in Washington, Senator Kennedy has been a champion for America’s children, seniors, and working families. He has never backed down from a fight in his life and this latest challenge will be no different.

“The thoughts and prayers of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee are with Senator Kennedy, his wife Vicki, his son Congressman Patrick Kennedy, and the entire Kennedy family at this difficult time.”
