DCCC Chairman Israel’s Statement on Republicans’ Upcoming Vote to Repeal Health Care Reform

DCCC Chairman Steve Israel released the following statement ahead of House Republicans’ vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act next week:

“Next week will be another reminder of House Republicans’ wrong priorities: Republicans will vote to protect the profits of their insurance company campaign donors instead of consumer protections for patients and lower prescription drug costs for seniors, while doing nothing to get the economy back on track and to strengthen the middle class.

“Voters deep sense of buyer’s remorse with this Republican Congress will only deepen as Republicans protect insurance company profits and play these partisan games instead of creating jobs and strengthening the middle class. House Republicans need to stop with the political stunts and get to work on jumpstarting the economy.”
