DCCC Steps up Campaign to Highlight Republicans’ Double Speak on Supporting Our Troops & Veterans
The DCCC
announced today the second phase of its campaign to highlight House Republicans’
hypocrisy in claiming to support our troops and veterans, but then playing
politics with funding them. Retired General Wesley Clark has
recorded automated calls on Republicans’ votes against the GI Bill. The DCCC
also released a web video highlighting Republicans’ hypocrisy.
Last week,
the DCCC launched the first phase of the campaign against Republicans’
hypocrisy, running radio ads against 10 Republicans.
“Unfortunately, Republicans’ votes in Congress before
Memorial Day did not match their rhetoric to our troops and veterans,” said
Jennifer Crider, Communications Director at the DCCC. “This new phase of our
campaign will hold Republicans accountable for their double speak and playing
politics with the bill to fund our troops and veterans. Our troops don’t have
the luxury of abandoning the battlefield like the Republicans did by voting
against the new GI Bill for the 21st century.
General Wesley Clark recorded automated phone
calls to run in following four districts:
- John Boehner
(OH-08), Minority Leader
- Steve Chabot (OH-01)
- Randy Kuhl (NY-29)
- John Shadegg (AZ-03)
Automated calls will also run in Mark Kirk’s (IL-10)
district.
The web video can be seen at www.dccc.org.
Last week, the DCCC announced that radio ads would air
during drive time this week in the following districts: John Boehner (OH-08),
Minority Leader; Adam Putnam (FL-12), Republican Conference Chairman; John
Shadegg (AZ-03); Steve Chabot (OH-01); Tom Feeney (FL-24); Randy Kuhl (NY-29);
Mark Kirk (IL-10); and Lincoln Diaz-Balart (FL-21), Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25),
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-18).
The text of the phone calls running
against John Boehner (OH-08), Steve Chabot (OH-01), Randy Kuhl (NY-29), and John
Shadegg (AZ-03) follows:
Hi, this is General Wes Clark, calling on behalf of the
DCCC.

for our veterans.

first time since World War II to provide a free college education for veterans.
That’s leaving our veterans
behind.
Call Steve Chabot at 513-684-2723 and tell him to stand
up for our troops and our veterans.
