Djou’s Reckless Priorities: Against Tax Cuts for Hawaii Families, For Major Cuts to Vital Services
Despite the fact that Charles Djou has already spent over two years running for Congress, the more appearances he makes, the more Djou’s reckless priorities become clear.
Yesterday, Djou made clear his opposition to the largest tax cut in American history, which has helped put money in the pockets of working families. And that comes on the heels of Djou’s plan to cut funds for Honolulu’s first responders, public safety, road maintenance – even sanitation and sewer rehabilitation after the devastating sewage spill just a few years ago.
“The more Charles Djou speaks, the more apparent his reckless priorities become. He’s opposed to the largest tax cut in American history, which put desperately needed funds in the pockets of Hawaii families. And he even suggested cutting critical funding for Honolulu’s police and firefighters,” said Andy Stone, Western Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Not only that, but Djou also wants to cut sewage and sanitation funds which would help ensure Oahu doesn’t face another massive sewage spill like that would close beaches and hurt the economy.”
