Illinois Families Can’t Afford More of Congresswoman Biggert’s Failed Tenure in Washington

After serving for more than a decade in Washington, Congresswoman Biggert today filed for re-election in Illinois’ new 11th district, which includes a largely new constituency and was won by President Obama and Senator Kerry. In response the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released the following statement:

“For more than a decade, Congresswoman Biggert pushed for out of touch policies that collapsed our economy, sent Illinois jobs overseas, and ended Medicare,” said Haley Morris of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Enough is enough. Illinois families can’t afford any more of Congresswoman Biggert’s lockstep support for a Washington Republican agenda that protects billionaires’ tax breaks, but consistently sells out the middle class, and does nothing to create jobs.”
