Lord Leading Shadegg in New AZ-03 Poll
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a new Anzalone Liszt Research poll conducted October 6-8 that shows Bob Lord leading Congressman John Shadegg in the race for Arizona's 3rd congressional district. The initial head to head between Democrat Bob Lord and Republican John Shadegg is 45 to 44, Libertarian Michael Shoen got 5. The poll surveyed 400 likely voters and has a 4.9% margin of error.
Voters in the 3rd Congressional District believe Shadegg votes too often with President George Bush and Republicans in Congress, that Washington has changed Shadegg and that Shadegg is too close to the special interests. Voters do not believe Shadegg is working to change Congress.
"Bob Lord's campaign for change continues to gain support as Arizonans recognize Lord will be an independent voice in Congress," said Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spokesman Yoni Cohen. "Congressman John Shadegg voted with George Bush's House leadership 98 percent of the time, voting against health care and a bonus for troops in Iraq, ethics reform and health care for children. Shadegg even supported Bush's risky plan to privatize Social Security, which would have caused seniors to lose many of their retirement benefits in the recent stock market crash."
